16 million American kids struggle with hunger each year and according to @FeedingAmerica, 1 in 7 Americans will turn to a food bank for help. Which is why HW Staffing Solutions comes together each year as a team to participate in the HW Cares Community Food Drive, a Holiday Food Drive in its fourth year. From November 11th through December 17th, employees are encouraged to drop off a canned good or dry perishable food item at their local branch or on-site location. These items are then donated to a community food bank designated by the branch.  In exchange for caring each employee who donates an item is entered into a raffle to win one of three prizes, a $50 Amazon gift card, a $25 Target gift card, or a $25 Walmart gift card. Three raffles per branch!

The top items food banks are asking for this year include:

  • Peanut butter
  • Canned meats such as tuna or chicken
  • Cereal
  • Canned and dried fruit
  • Canned vegetables
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Canned soup
